Folk who Walk

Folk who Walk

Subject to weather conditions, ÂŁ10, under 18s free.

Doggies on leads welcome !

Following our hugely successful Summer stroles, join Dorset-born folk singer Alastair Simpson for a countryside walk accompanied by traditional folk songs from the county and further afield.

Many folk songs belong in the outdoors, especially when they tell stories of the people who live and work there. Alastair is becoming known for his unaccompanied singing of traditional and modern folk songs, and is a lover of the Dorset countryside and nature which inhabits it. These walks will take in some beautiful scenery, bringing an opportunity to learn something of countryside ways, as well as meeting with the past to hear these old songs.
